Weekend Wedding

We stayed this weekend on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. A beautiful spot, for a beautiful wedding.

1) We arrived on Friday evening, and stayed until Sunday morning. This gave us plenty of opportunity to spend time with people, in a relaxed fashion, and it was wonderful to catch up with friends I haven’t seen since I left university :-).

2) On Saturday morning, we took ourselves off for a walk, intending to do a bit of the West Highland Way. Instead, we found ourselves circumnavigating a hill before arriving at the Ardess Ranger Station, whereupon the ranger suggested that we do the Ardess Hidden History Trail instead. It looked fun, so we did, and it was. Well worth it, if you happen to be in that neck of the woods with an hour and the energy to scramble up hill and down dale to spare!

3) The ceremony itself was in a marquee, with the glorious back drop of Loch Lomond at sunset. Stunning indeed 🙂 .

4) Introducing the kids to their first proper ceilidh was lots of fun. Megan particularly loved it!

About Carolyn

This blog has served different purposes over the years - it started out following a Three Beautiful Things (3BT) structure: and I used to record three things, often the ordinary moments in life, which made me smile that smile. Then, I joined a community of knitters sharing my progress on what I was knitting that week. Now, after a long hiatus, I'm back to share an unusual new knitting project...
