Summer plans, yarn shop, and WIP Wednesday

1) To sit and discuss with a like-minded friend.  I come away inspired with ideas, some of which I’m sure we’ll make reality over the summer 🙂 .

2) As I unpack, I come across a brown paper bag, the contents of which make me smile… tucked away in a little cafe in the Ariundle Visitor Centre, Strontian is a gorgeous little yarn shop called Clippet Sheep. I went in with the intention of browsing, but happened upon this beautiful recycled Mulberry Silk yarn in gorgeous shades of pink and terracotta. I couldn’t resist… any ideas for what to use it for will be most welome!  A fell for this lovely recycled Banana Silk yarn (made from fibres from banana leaves, spun together with silk), in a glorious shade of teal. He’s asked me to teach him to purl this weekend, before he knits using his banana silk.

3) Sadly not much knitting has happened over the last week (too busy enjoying myself!), My Lacy Scarf has grown by 10cm, and I’ve cast on for my new project, which will be a Big Sister Dress by Tora Frøseth, for Megan. (No, I’m not trying to tell you anything, except that the Little Sister version of the dress only goes up to age 2!!)

There are plenty more of today’s Works-in-Progress over at Tami’s blog, if you are interested in seeing more!

About Carolyn

This blog has served different purposes over the years - it started out following a Three Beautiful Things (3BT) structure: and I used to record three things, often the ordinary moments in life, which made me smile that smile. Then, I joined a community of knitters sharing my progress on what I was knitting that week. Now, after a long hiatus, I'm back to share an unusual new knitting project...

  1. Hi Carolyn! I haven’t checked your blog in so long – it was so lovely to do a quick catch up and see how the kids have grown! Sending love from all the way over here! xx
