Surprised, out for lunch, and Finished Object Friday

1) The dentist appeared a little surprised when, in response to her question of “who’s first?”, M says “I am!” and calmly climbed up onto the chair. I’m left with the distinct impression that this is an unusual response!

2) After a long morning’s work, Dad takes me out for lunch – we share a bruschetta and then split a pizza, which makes just the right amount. Thanks Dad!

3) I’m cheating a little this week as I haven’t had much time to knit, but do you remember the skirt I was making for M a few weeks ago? Well, I finished it, and here she is 🙂 .

The inspiration for this skirt came from the lovely Amanda over at Kitschy Coo and, at her suggestion, I simply adapted* her pettiskirt tutorial in order to make this skirt. I found the pattern easy to follow, and there were clear instructions on how to fit it for my daughter. I’m thrilled with the result. As is M! Given that, even for a relative novice like me, this make only took me a few hours, I suspect I may be making some more…

* The modifications I made were: a) I only used one layer of fabric; b) I reduced the multiplication factor from 2 to 1.5 for the rectangles; c) I added an underskirt, d) and a waistband; and e) I did a double row of top-stitching on the hem.
