Comfy, cake and party!

Here are three beautiful things from yesterday:

1) The feel of thick comfy carpet under my bare feet.

2) Megan makes and decorates a chocolate cake all on her own – it tastes delicious! She even did the piping, her first attempt at it. Her hands aren’t quite strong enough, so I had to apply the pressure to squeeze the buttercream out, but she guided the nozzle and placed the rosettes where she wanted them. I’m very proud!

3) Feeling tired – for grown-up reasons! We had a fab evening out with friends on Friday, and got home rather late. I was tired yesterday, but for once it wasn’t because I’d been up in the night with the kids!

More carpets, coffee and flowers!

1) I stepped out of bed this morning, and my feet sank into a lovely warm soft carpet 🙂 .

2) We were invited round to my brother’s flat this afternoon – as always, he’s an excellent host, and a wonderful uncle. The kids had a lovely time, and it was great to catch up with him properly.

3) I spot the promise of my own spring snowdrops and daffodils – lots and lots of shoots poking up through the couple of centimetres of snow which fell in the night. I love spring!

Carpets, coffee and flowers

With all the excitement of getting the new carpets fitted yesterday, and putting the house back to rights afterwards, I didn’t get time to post. So here are yesterday’s 3BT:

1) New carpets – woo hoo! I love the way they have transformed the look of the whole house!

2) Coffee with a friend who I haven’t seen for a while because I was ill – great to catch up!

3) Snow drops – I spotted the first clump of snowdrops I’ve seen this spring in my parents back garden 🙂 .

Shoots, carpets and quiet

I’ve missed a couple of days (been very busy), so here’s three beautiful things from Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

1) the first shoot of spring.  I noticed this in the garden on Friday morning:

2) choosing new carpets for our stairs, hall, new guest room (we’re moving the kids into the bigger bedroom) and our bedroom!  K and I had so much fun choosing them yesterday!

3) a quiet hour with Aidan, when K and M were at church.  A and I didn’t go as he’s got a cold, so we just had a lovely quiet time together 🙂 .
